Volvo for the Poznan Marathon

Less than three months ale left before the greatest marathon in Poland. It is worth shifting into a high gear as there is something to fight for. This year’s event offers several nice surprises for the competitors – Volvo V60 is one of them.

Volvo for the Poznan Marathon

Volvo V60 is to be awarded to a competitor who will cover the marathon distance within less than 2 hours and 5 minutes, if nobody does it the prize will be drawn from among all who will complete the race within the time specified by the regulations.

Volvo Auto Polska funded the prize for one of the runners under "Volvo for Marathon" – a campaign initiated by the personnel of this company.

How much is the participation fee?

The basic rate is PLN 80. People over the age of 60 get 50% discount. In addition, if you have your own yellow timing chip, you are entitled to a discount of PLN 5, provided that you enter your chip number on the application form. Persons taking part in the Poznan Marathon for the 12th time are exempted from the participation fee.

Who is a pacemaker?

Pacemaker is a person who from the start to finish leads the race (usually constant pace) for a specified time. The task of pacemakers is to help all willing competitors to reach finish line in the intended time. Most pacemakers will lead the following times: 3:00, 3:15, 3:30, 3:45, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30.

Does the organizer provide free accommodation?

Yes. The organizer provides free accommodation in the night of 15.10.2011 to 16.10.2011 at the Sports Hall, Chwiałkowskiego Street 34, to all willing participants. The requirement is to select the "free accommodation" option in the registration form. The competitors shall be accepted for accommodation upon presenting the start number. The organizer does not provide sleeping bags or mattresses.
